How to Repair Leather Jacket

How can you repair the sleeves on your leather jacket when the edges are cracking, without making the leather weak or super soft?

If you have any loose edges, you can actually tack them up with a small dab of rubber cement which is sold at most grocery or retail stores. If the edges are not torn but just starting to look rough, one of the best options is for you to use a combination of mink oil and beeswax.

Typically this concoction is sold as paste, making it easy to apply. While it helps to improve those rough spots, it does soften but not too much. This combination will also help preserve the leather and prevent stains.

How to Care Motorbike Leather Jackets

Motorbike Leather Jackets are trendy and often costly. Keeps your Leather Jacket looking its best for years to come by taking proper care of it from the moment you bring it home. Apply a quality protecting spray to prevent damage from the elements. Follow the manufacturer's care instructions and enjoy your jacket year-round no matter what weather Mother Nature brings. Read on to learn how to care for a leather jacket.
Motorbike Leather Jackets

1) Always hang leather coats/ jackets on wide padded hangers. Use shoe trees in shoes and boots. Stuff empty handbags with tissues to retain their shape.
2) Do not store leather goods in plastic bags or other nonporous covers. If clothing must be stored in a garment bag, keep it open for ventilation.
3) Allow wet or damp leather to air-dry naturally away from any source of heat. Apply a little leather conditioner when the leather is nearly dry to restore flexibility. Follow this with a full conditioning treatment after the leather has completely air-dried.
4) In winter, promptly remove any salt deposits from coats, shoes and boots by sponging with clean water, then follow with the treatment recommended above for wet or damp leather. To prevent mildew, protect leather from excessive humidity.
5) In a dry environment, regularly condition the leather in order to prevent it from drying out and cracking.
6) Do not use waxes, or silicone formulas or other leather preparations that impair the ability of the leather to "breathe.

If you own a fine leather jacket then you've probably drawn a few looks here and there because of the style. Unfortunately over time, even a great leather jacket can turn ugly on you if it isn't properly maintained.

How to care Leather & Textile Garments

BELPAK - Furious Gear is a presumed Manufacturers & Exporters of Motorbike Leather & Textile Garments. At here we have given our products much thought to make them as good as we want them. This is true not only for their comfort and safety, but also for their longevity and good looks. However, to make sure that you get the most out of your Leather Motorbike Clothes and that they fulfill your expectations, some care and maintenance should be invested by you otherwise there is the risk that they will lose their function and their service life can become drastically shortened. These are valid reasons for taking care of your Motorbike Leather Garments – for comfort, safety and a long life. Wet clothes should be allowed to dry airily and slowly at room temperatures. Leather clothes should never be dried in heat, like on a radiator or in a drier. Belpak provide complete guideline regarding Motorbike Leather & Textile Garments care.

Leather Clothing:
Leather must never be allowed to dry out! Dry fibers become brittle and will tear quicker under extreme loads, like in an accident. To prevent this, leather should be greased regularly, to allow the fibers to keep their natural elasticity. If your leather becomes wet, allow it to dry at room temperature. (Never put leather in the dryer.) Then apply Paw People and Suede Protector. Buff suede with a soft towel to restore the nap.
If your garment has faux fur trim and the fur gets wet, dry it with a hair dryer set on the lowest temperature. Shake fur during the drying process, and periodically during wear to maintain loft and maximize appearance. If necessary, leather can be washed with a soft sponge and a mild soap solution or special leather soap. These are two measures, which prolong the service life of your leather clothes and also their capacity to resist the forces of nature.

Textile Clothing:

Textile clothes should be washed at regular intervals, according to the product information. After every third washing, the impregnation should be renewed. The protectors must always be removed before washing. Polyester and polyamide in textile clothes melt at 240-260°C. Therefore, always keep them away from hot objects, like silencers or exhaust pipes.

How to Determine Leather Quality

Animal skins and hides were the first natural material modified by man. In a process called “tanning”, mechanical and chemical treatments preserve the skins and convert them to leather.
There are different types of animal hides used to make leather. Cattle, sheep, goats and pigs are most commonly used. The most popular is cattle, since they are notable for thicker and durable hides. About 65 percent of leather items are produced with cattle hides. Sheep on the other hand, only account for about 17 percent of all leather items. Their hides are much more delicate and are used mostly for linings and bookbinding. Goats and pigs are not used that much (about 8 to 9 percent), but can be found in shoes, clothing, and linings in certain regions of the world.

Determining Leather Quality

Quality leather has the following features: good elasticity, thermal insulation, water resistance/permeability, and shape retention. You can always tell if an item is made from real leather since the material breathes and adjusts to the temperature of its environment. It also becomes richer and suppler over time. Leather is known for being long lasting, some with a longevity of a lifetime. Here are some tips to help you determine quality of leather:
1) Top grain steer hides make strongest, most durable types of leather. This leather is perfect for all types of items: furniture, clothing, shoes etc.
2) Lower priced leather will usually have a higher percentage of healed scars or other markings in the material.
3) The type of finishing/dyeing determines quality. Fully aniline dyed leathers are better and more expensive than semi-aniline dyed leathers.
4) Hand crafted leather items are more valuable and expensive than machine crafted items.
5) Most leather items are imported from Europe and are well known for their superior craftsmanship. For this quality, expect to pay much more than your local counterparts.
6) If leather is produced in large quantities with a popular color (say black), you will tend to pay lower prices than a custom color (like red)

Vintage Motorcycle Jackets

Generally speaking, clothing which was produced before the 1920s is referred to as antique clothing and clothing from the 1920s to 1960s is considered vintage. Retro, short for retrospective, or "vintage style" usually refers to clothing that imitates the style of a previous era. Reproduction, or repro, clothing is a newly-made but faithful copy of an older garment. Clothing produced more recently is usually called modern or contemporary fashion. Opinions vary on these definitions.
Most vintage clothing has been previously worn, but a small percentage of pieces have not. These are often old warehouse stock, and more valuable than those that has been worn, especially if they have their original tags. Referred to as dead stock or new old stock (NOS), they nevertheless sometimes have flaws. How To Buy Leather Motorbike Suit

Motorcycle leather Suits
Motorcycle Leather Suits
If this is the first time you've been in the market for a Motorcycle Leather Suits, or jacket for that matter, you're likely going into the experience with little information and a lot of questions. Most of customers contact us to looking for a suit armed with recommendations and advice from friends, many of whom also have no idea what makes up a good fitting, quality suit. We're not asking you to ignore those recommendations or your own opinions, because they may in the end weigh the heaviest in your decision on what to buy, but take a moment to consider some new information your buddies may not be passing on to you.

A one or two piece leather suit is usually a relatively significant investment for most riders. The cost alone is the reason so many riders don't own a suit, let alone a good quality jacket. It's safe to say that a majority of street motorcycle riders ride with less than ideal riding gear. Given that fact, riding with any real protective gear other than a helmet is a step above the rest. Nevertheless, our opinion is that you should own and use the best quality riding gear that you can afford. Beyond that, your gear should fit your needs, your riding style and most of all it should fit you.

We are often asked what the difference is between the low end and high end suits. It comes down to the amount of features the suit has, the quality of the leather, the quality of the interior of the suit, the quality of the armor (if the suit features any), the type and amount of stitching in the suit. The more expensive the materials and the more time needed to make the suit, will make up the cost of the suit. Like anything, you tend to get what you pay for and poorly made suits will not only protect you less, but won't last as long just during the regular use of the suit
